The City of Luxembourg gears up for the promotion of building associations
On 30 May and 12 June, the City of Luxembourg hosted two public information events in the Cercle Cité auditorium, during which it presented two building plots provided by the city for building association projects.
In the presence of Sam Tanson (first alderwoman), Patrick Golschmidt (alderman), Sonja Gengler (architect-head of department[CW1] ), Pierre-Yves Mutel (Administration des services du géomètre[CW2] ) and Luc Wagner (WW+ architektur + management), Lydie Polfer (Mayor of the City of Luxembourg) announced the readiness of the city to offer alternative housing acquisition solutions in the form of building associations. Sonja Gengler gave an overview of the two lots in Bonnevoie and Belair and Luc Wagner outlined the building association concept. This was followed by practical examples of building association projects in Germany, which were presented by two architects specialising in this type of project (Matthias Gütschow and Thomas Gauggel). The meeting concluded with a Q&A session for the many interested parties present. Our office contributed to and oversaw the development of the model and of the award process of the City of Luxembourg building association project. In Anwesenheit von Sam Tanson (1. Schöffin), Patrick Golschmidt (Schöffe), Sonja Gengler (Architecte-directeur), Pierre-Yves Mutel (Administration des services du géomètre) und Luc Wagner (WW+ architektur + management) verkündete Lydie Polfer (Bürgermeisterin der Stadt Luxemburg), die Bereitschaft der Stadt, Alternativen für den Erwerb von Wohneigentum in Form von Baugemeinschaften anzubieten. Sonja Gengler gab einen Überblick über die beiden Grundstücke in Bonnevoie bzw. in Belair und Luc Wagner erläuterte das Baugemeinschaftskonzept. Es folgten praktische Beispiele von Baugemeinschaftsprojekten in Deutschland. Diese wurden von zwei in dieser Art von Projekten spezialisierten Architekten präsentiert (Matthias Gütschow und Thomas Gauggel). Das Treffen endete mit der Beantwortung von Fragen der zahlreich erschienenen Interessenten/innen.
