Laboratory building MdM II, Esch sur Alzette (LUX)

The façade of the Institute for Life and Materials Sciences at the University of Luxembourg, Belval, Esch-sur-Alzette (MdM II) has now been completed. On an extensive area of 4500 m² with an energetically optimised opening portion, it is clad with clinker bricks in block formation with overhanging clinker heads. The shadows cast by the clinker heads provide additional depth and give the façade an impressive relief.

The building was designed by Behles & Jochimsen, an Berlin-based architect’s office. Our office is responsible for construction management and coordination on site.
