Kick-Off Construction School Baltzing, Dudelange (LUX)
We are pleased to support the planning of a new primary school with integrated Maison Relais in Burange, town of Dudelange. The future campus will accommodate around 230 children, combining learning, care and community in one place.
The design follows a participatory approach developed together with teachers, educators and citizens from the neighbourhood. It brings together different uses - school, childcare, a sports hall and an open playground - to create a connected and lively environment.
Sustainability lies at the core of the project: The use of natural materials such as wood and recycled building components (e.g. acoustic wall panels made from recycled PET) along with a green roof for water retention and climate regulation, all contribute to a resource-efficient building. These measures are complemented by the preservation of existing trees, and the installation of a smart rainwater management system. The project is targeting DGNB Gold certification.
The demolition of the former building is currently underway. Construction of the school is scheduled to begin this summer, with completion expected in 2029.
