Bodo Korsig (GER), 2016-17

Bodo Korsig was born in Zwickau in 1962. His artistic work is mainly concerned with sculptures and spatial installations. In his art, he places a special emphasis on the thematization of human behavior patterns under extreme conditions.

Since 1992 he has exhibited in over 100 galleries and museums worldwide, including the Leonardimuseum Dresden (Germany), Fukumitsu Art Museum, (Japan), Smart Museum of Art Chicaco (USA), Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck, (Germany), and the ZKM Karlsruhe (Germany).

He has received 20 international awards and scholarships, including the following: Scholarship Kunstfonds, Berlin (Germany), Artist Residency Largo das Artes, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Grand Prix 4th International Triennial Prague (Czech Republic), Max Kade Foundation (USA).

In addition, he is represented with his works in more than 50 national and international museums, such as the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C. (USA), Brooklyn Museum of Art, New York (USA), Museum of Fine Arts (Taiwan), Czech Museum of Fine Arts, Prague (Czech Republic) and the Museum Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern (Germany).
