Place Paul Jomé, Hesperange (LUX)

On Monday, 19 July 2021, three projects for the revitalisation of the town centre were presented during the town council meeting of the municipality of Hesperange. The aforementioned projects comprise the transformation of the Place Paul Jomé, the construction of a lift to connect the town centre with the "Holleschbierg", and the creation of a parking deck structure with a communal mobility hub.

The transformation of the Place Paul Jomé in the city-centre of Hesperange includes the construction of a multi-storey building complex with underground parking to create affordable housing and the creation of a square area with direct access to the "Hesperpark". The project includes the construction of approximately 60 residential units. Space on the ground floor for offices, restaurants and services will complement the offer.

SNHBM (Société Nationale des Habitations à Bon Marché) was commissioned to develop and construct the building complex. WW+, as winner of the architectural competition together with Ernst & Partner, accompanies the municipality of Hesperange in the project development and management (among other things, consulting on development models). Furthermore, our office is responsible for the PAP (Plan d'aménagement particulier) and the architecture itself.

The parking deck structure with the municipal mobility hub on the Route de Thionville, which is still in the planning phase, is a project that aims at concentrating and expanding public parking space.

The third project presented to the municipal council was the project to build a lift between the centre of Hesperange and the "Holleschbierg". The new barrier-free lift will improve accessibility to the sports infrastructures at "Holleschbierg" and create a new important connection to the centre of the village.
