Faarwekëscht School with new nature-oriented outdoor areas, Leudelange (LUX)
Last week the second construction phase of the “Faarwekëscht” school in Leudelange was officially inaugurated in the presence of Minister of Education Claude Meisch, Minister of the Interior Léon Gloden, as well as representatives of the municipality and the planning team.
After completion of the first construction phase in 2020, the second phase was finalized in November 2024, followed by the completion of the outdoor areas in September 2025. The new building includes, among other facilities, spaces for Précoce and Préscolaire, creative workshops, and an underground parking garage.
A particular focus was placed on the redesign of the outdoor areas, which extend the educational concept spatially. Two schoolyards were carefully integrated into the surrounding landscape and designed as nature-oriented spaces for play and recreation. Wooden play equipment, differentiated areas for movement and retreat, and a clear landscape-architectural structure create outdoor spaces with a strong connection to nature that invite play, learning, and discovery.
We would like to thank the Municipality of Leudelange for the trust placed in us, as well as all project partners and involved companies for the inspiring and constructive collaboration throughout the project.
