WW+ Insights: The role of Process Design
Municipal and urban development requires structure – and foresight. At WW+, our Process Design team supports municipalities not just with individual projects, but throughout their overall development process – from vision to implementation.
Our approach:
- Develop guiding principles: Future-oriented strategies, such as the Municipal Development Plan (Plan de Développement Communal, PDC), focused on the next 15–20 years
- Think ahead: Integrate global megatrends and local spatial visions
- Foster dialogue: Enable meaningful exchange between administrations, politics, and citizens
- Promote sustainability: Enable resilience towards climate change, enhance quality of life and local identity
Example: In close collaboration with the local administration, political representatives, and citizens of Kayl we developed a Plan de Développement Communal, which is the result of an approximately three-year-long process. It will now serve as a guiding framework for the future spatial development of the municipality. The main components include a spatial development vision, from active mobility to future-oriented neighbourhoods, as well as the definition of strategic objectives and measures.
