Concept
The Milvus & Lanius project links in with the overall design concept of the new centre of the municipality of Junglinster. The new “Jongmëtt Lënster – Wunnen nei erliewen!” is located between Rue de la Gare and Rue Hiehl. This project occupies the centre’s northeast gateway and also marks the first implementation phase of the overall urban development project. Two residences are created with 37 dwellings for senior citizens and individuals with reduced mobility. The building ensemble fully meets with the requirements of the “Design for all!” label. The dwellings can be adapted with little change to individual life situations and various degrees of restriction, thus meeting any future requirements of the occupant.
The ground floor houses medical practices, a pharmacy and a range of gastronomic services for everyday needs. The building ensemble sits above a communal underground car park, which extends underneath the entire site and has room for 71 parking spaces.
The two residences are both L-shaped, their configuration creating a communal courtyard, an inviting space for residents to linger.
The buildings are constructed in accordance with passive house standards and are thus extremely energy efficient and sustainable.
